RED OAK	WHITE OAK	MAPLE
Red Oak is probably the most popular flooring species. It is cost-effective, very hardy, and adds exceptional value to your home at an affordable price.	White Oak has a light-brown finish and is more durable than Red Oak. White Oak will absorb finish more and will not bleach well. We recommend an oil-based finish because the use of a water-based finish could turn the wood green or brown in areas.	Maple is a very beautiful wood that is an excellent choice for any home. Because maple is more durable than oak, it is often used for gyms and basketball courts.
CHERRY	WALNUT	AUSTRALIAN CYPRESS
Cherry wood has an extremely rich appearance and is one of the most valuable woods on the market, next to Black Walnut. Cherry finishes well and will darken over time — about 1-2 shades.	Walnut is the most valuable wood species. It has incredible beauty and durability that lasts for decades. The most discriminating builders of upscale homes often choose walnut. It is also frequently used as the highlight material for borders and other inlay techniques.	Australian Cypress ranges from honey-gold to brown and has darker knots throughout. It combines unique character with endurance that exceeds Red Oak.
ASH	HEARTWOOD	PINE
Ash is similar to White Oak, but often with a more yellow cast. It is slightly more hardy than Red Oak.	Heartwood has reddish-brown tone. Sapwood is generally a pale white. Beech Wood typically has moderate to high color variations between boards.	Pine is the softest wood typically used in wood floors and is more vulnerable to scuff and dents than other woods. Pine is also a beautiful choice, as long as it is installed in an appropriate location.
